ESPN Radio to Broadcast 2017 USCAA Basketball National Championships
Norfolk, VA – ESPN Radio Williamsport (1050 AM - 92.7 FM - 1600 AM - 104.1 FM) has partnered with the USCAA to broadcast the 2017 USCAA Basketball National Championships. The tournament will be held at Penn State Fayette in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. ESPN Radio will simulcast the play by play on radio and through the USCAA Network, which will have live video of each game at basketball.theuscaa.com. ESPN will call each semi-final and final of the 2017 tournament.
"ESPN Williamsport is pleased to reunite with the USCAA on the national collegiate stage and bring such a high quality broadcast for these students athletes who are capping outstanding seasons in the USCAA National Basketball Championships,” states ESPN Williamsport owner Todd Bartley. The 34 team single elimination tournament will begin this Tuesday with a skills competition at Penn State Fayette. The championships will tip-off at 10am on Wednesday morning with defending champions Concordia College Alabama taking on Paul Quinn College in first round Women’s Division I action. ESPN will have the call beginning with the Men’s Division I semi-finals on Thursday evening, and carrying through to championship Saturday.
ESPN Radio Williamsport is currently home to high quality programming including NCAA and professional Pennsylvania sports. Also serving as the flagship station of the Williamsport Crosscutters Radio Network, the New York-Penn League affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. ESPN Radio Williamsport has been recognized by the Pennsylvania Associated Press Broadcasters Association (PAPBA) for the "Best Play-by-Play" (Todd Bartley, first place), (Trevor Turner, third place) in a medium market as well as "Best Sportscast" (Trevor Turner, first place) in a medium market.
