UNIONTOWN, PA – In the first overtime game of the 2014 USCAA Basketball National Championships, Tennessee Temple University used a late second-half comeback and an 8-0 run in overtime to upset #3 Victory University, 73-70.
Down 53-43 with 11 minutes remaining in the second half, Tennessee Temple's Elliot Johnson scored five straight points to spearhead an 11-0 run that gave the Crusaders their first lead in the game. Johnson would then add eight of Tennessee Temple's 12 points in overtime to finish with 31 points (10-24) and 10 rebounds. Travaris Clarke chipped in 12 points for the Crusaders. Victory University was paced by Mike Davis with 19 points and Marcus Guy who added 15 points.
Tennessee Temple University will move on to face the winner of #2 Rochester College versus #7 The Apprentice School at 10:00 PM in the Main Arena on Thursday. Victory University will move to the consolation bracket where they will face the loser of that game.
