IN BRIEF: #1 Daemen College Wildcats defeats #8 Indiana University South Bend, 69-63, to advance to the semifinals of the 2015 USCAA Men's Division I Basketball National Championship.
ON THE COURT: Due in large part to great shooting on the offensive end, the Titans led the Wildcats at the half, 39-31. The Titans hit 15-29 shots, which is good for 52% which included 9-17 3-pointers for 53%. On the defensive end, they held the Wildcats to 12-31 shooting.
However in the second half, the Wildcats came roaring back to outscore the Titans 38-24 to earn the hard fought victory, 69-63. The Wildcats made an effort in the second half to chase the Titans off the 3-point line and forcing them in to taking difficult shots as they shot only 7-24 (29%) from the field.
USCAA Men's Division I Player of the Year, Gerald Beverly, led four players for the Wildcats in double figures with a game-high 21 points. He also grabbed 19 rebounds, 1 shy of the tournament record, including 8 offensive rebounds. Also scoring in double figures for the Wildcats was Supreme Hannah with 13, Kyle Clifford with 12, and Jordan Greene with 12.
Forward, Jacob Foster, led the way for the Titans with 16 points while TJ Benner and Jeremy Jones chipped in with 12 points apiece.
