UNIONTOWN, PA- The second game of USCAA Women's Division I action resulted in the second-seeded Ave Maria University Gyrenes defeating the seventh-seeded Robert Morris University-Springfield Eagles 70-66.
All-American senior guard Emily Huber led the Lady Gyrenes with 22 points (8-18) and 10 rebounds. Cassie Kreiger came off the bench and chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Ave Maria won the rebounding battle 55 to 43 and was able to capitalize with 22 second chance points.
The Lady Eagles' Tracy Osby contributed 22 points on 8-13 shooting. Cassandra Baker added a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams were very evenly matched resulting in five lead changes throughout the course of the game. Ave Maria University will take on the Lady Lynx of Lindenwood Belleville Friday, March 1st at 11:00am in the Main Arena.
