#1 Daemen College 73 - #3 Lindenwood-Belleville 62
UNIONTOWN, PA – Just hours after their Division I men counterparts dropped a close game against Rochester College in the Men's Division I final, the Daemen College Lady Wildcats defeated the Lindenwood-Belleville Lynx by the score of 73-62. Down by one at halftime, Lindsay Stoddard took over scoring 18 of her game-high 22 points in the second-half and leading the Wildcats to their first USCAA Women's Division I basketball crown.
Ellie Allen added 20 points and 7 rebounds for Daemen College, while Chelsea Andorka chipped in 12. Tournament MVP and USCAA All-American Monica Kosior had 8 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 blocks while leading a Wildcat defense that held the Lynx to under 30% shooting in the second half. Down 11 points with 3:53 left in the first half, Daemen College battled back with 10 straight points from Andorka, Allen, and Stoddard to get the score to within one and set the stage for their big second-half.
Lindenwood-Belleville was led by Breana McCullough with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Diamond Burt added 12 points and 9 rebounds for the Lynx. In the tale of two-halves, USCAA All-American Taylor James was 4-5 from three-point range in the first half and led the Lynx with 12 points at the break. The hot-shooting wouldn't continue though, as James went 1-9 from the field in the second half and Lindenwood-Belleville struggled to capitalize on their opportunities to make a run.
