UNIONTOWN, PA - The fifth-seeded Southern Virginia University Knights defeated the fourth-seeded Lindenwood Belleville Lynx by the score of 91-79.
USCAA Second Team All-American Casey Nye led the Knights with 28 points on 9-18 shooting. The Jacobson Brothers, Anders and Issac, chipped in 22 and 18 points respectively. Southern Virginia shot 53% (7-13) from beyond the arc in the first half. The Knights also asserted themselves defensively in the first half holding the Lindenwood to 28% shooting from the field.
All-American senior guard Todd Starks led the Lynx with 29 points (7-17). Fellow guard Deon Minor contributed 17 points and 7 rebounds in the defeat. The Lynx were able to control the paint, outscoring the Knights 26 to 16 down low. Southern Virginia university will face off against Rochester College tomorrow at 8:00pm in the Main Arena.
