Uniontown, PA – In the Men's Division I consolation bracket, the Lindenwood-Belleville Lynx held off the St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn Bears by a score of 81-74. Despite holding a 22 point lead at one point in the game, the Bears rallied to within three points at the one-minute mark before the Lynx' Todd Starks put the game away with three straight points in the closing seconds.
In the last game of a collegiate career that encompassed over 1,000 points, Starks, a USCAA All-American, poured in 32 points (13-23) to lead the Lynx. Matt Sturdivant pitched in a double-double with 21 points and 14 rebounds, and Steven Roped tallied 16 rebounds for Lindenwood-Belleville. As a team the fourth-seeded Lynx scored 42 points inside the paint and got 20 points from their bench.
Led by USCAA Honorable Mention All-American Michael Megafu's 15 points and 8 rebounds, the eighth-seeded Bears fell just short of an impressive second-half comeback after being down over twenty with seven minutes remaining. Capitalizing on 20 Lynx turnovers and 25 fouls, the Bears got big baskets down the stretch from Megafu and Jan Rogowski (16 points, 6 rebounds). David Louison added a double-double for the bears (11 points, 10 rebounds) in the loss.
