UNIONTOWN, PA- The fourth-seeded Penn State Beaver Lions defeated the fifth-seeded Central Penn Knights in the tournament's first overtime contest by a score of 92-89. The game would have headed into a second overtime if it had not been for a three-point buzzer beater by Patrick Horton to win the game for Beaver.
USCAA All-American Nick Miller and Chris Weathers led the way for the Lions with 25 (9-18) and 23 (7-13) points respectively. Robert Agurs, a freshman, contributed 21 (8-13) points along with seven rebounds and three steals. For the game the Lions shot 50% from beyond the arc (11/22) to offset an uneven performance from the charity stripe (17-29, 58.6%).
The Central Penn Knights were led by Keith Wilson with 18 points. Sophomore USCAA All-American Devon Dorsey added 17 points (8-11) and 7 rebounds. Lamar Drayton, Anthony Clagett, Wes Kirkland, Wilson, and Dorsey all reached double-figures in scoring for the Knights. Penn State Beaver will move on to face the Warren Wilson College Owls in the Men's Division II basketball semi-finals on Friday at 5:00 pm in the Main Arena.
