UNIONTOWN, PA – The Men's Division II National Championship game will be a battle of the #9 and #10 seeds as Warren Wilson College won their third game of the tournament, defeating Penn State Beaver 68-46. The Owls took a lead at the 16:49 mark in the first-half on a Justin Gonyea layup and wouldn't relinquish it again.
Leading Warren Wilson to victory once again was Raysean Love. Coming of a 23 point performance against top-ranked NHTI, Love dropped in 21 more on 7-12 shooting to send the Owls to the Men's Division II finals. Rashad Ali scored 12 for Warren Wilson, and Anthony Barringer added 9 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists in a well-rounded effort. The Owls shot 53% from the field in the contest, including 44% from behind the arc.
Penn State Beaver was paced by USCAA All-Americans Nick Miller (18 points) and Robert Agurs (10 points). The Lions shot 26.2% from the field and only 13.6% from the three-point line. The Lions were outrebounded 44-27 in the contest. Warren Wilson College will face against Penn State Fayette at 8:45 PM on Saturday in the Main Arena.
