IN BRIEF: The University of Maine Machias Clippers faced off against a familiar foe, College of St. Joseph's-Vermont, in a men's division II consolation match. The Clippers and Fighting Saints faced off twice in the regular season, and then again in the Yankee Small Conference semifinal, with the Clippers winning all three meetings. The Fighting Saints struggled to start the second half and Machias built up a lead that wouldn't be overcome, and Machias took the 71-55 victory.
ON THE COURT
- The University of Maine Machias Clippers', Jorge Milo, scored seven of his team's first nine points. College of St. Joseph's-Vermont's Kyle Houston scored six of his team's first eight points.
- The Clippers went on a 13-2 run and built a 29-15 lead halfway through the opening half.
- The Fighting Saints would not go away easily as they fought back and reduced the deficit to just one point until Milo from Machias nailed a three pointer in the final minute of the half to open the lead to four.
- College of St. Joseph's did not score in the opening four minutes of the second half and saw the Clippers reestablish their lead. This proved to be the run that would separate the two teams as the Fighting Saints were not able to respond.
BEHIND THE BOXSCORE
- Jorge Milo of University of Maine-Machias led all players with 29 points. He also dished out five assists and pulled down five boards. Milo was 6-8 from three and 11-20 from the floor. Travonne Thompson was a force on the boards pulling down 15 during the game. Brandon Blaklely chipped in 14 points in the winning effort.
- College of St. Joseph's-Vermont's Kareem Brown led the team with 17 points and 10 rebounds. He was also a perfect 5-5 from the line. Anthony Paul and Sean Spruill each added 11 points for the Fighting Saints.

The University of Maine Machias Clippers finished the season 14-11 and 8-5 in the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC). The Clippers will be graduating Second-Team All-American Ben Teer and Milo, an Honorable Mention All-American. College of St. Joseph's-Vermont finishes the season 20-11 and 12-1 in the YSCC. The Fighting Saints will be losing Honorable Mention All-American Antonio Gordon after back-to-back appearances in the USCAA Men's Division II Basketball National Championships.
