#1 NHTI 74 - #9 Warren Wilson College 79
UNIONTOWN, PA - In second round Men's Division II action the ninth-seeded Warren Wilson College Owls defeated the top-seeded NHTI Lynx 79-74. Despite coming into the game with only two losses on the season, it will be the Owls that move on to the third-round of the 2013 USCAA Men's Division II National Championships.
Warren Wilson College held their largest lead of the game with 5:40 remaining in the second half on an a pair of Anthony Barringer free throws. However, the Lynx would eventually cut the lead to within two with 0:42 seconds left in the game after a 3-pointer from Terry Williams. The Owls proceeded to go on a 10-7 run to conclude the game with all 10 points coming from the free throw line (83 FT% during that stretch).
Leading Warren Wilson College was Second-Team USCAA All-American Anthony Barringer who gave the Owls a well-rounded 15 point, 11 rebound and 5 assist performance. Senior guards Raysean Love and Dan Jackson added 23 and 16 points respectively in the winning effort. USCAA All-American Ahntwan Harris contibuted 22 points alongside Besfort Syla's hot shooting from behind the arc (5-10) for the Lynx. Warren Wilson forced 17 NHTI turnovers and capitalized with 25 points. Warren Wilson will advance to the semi-finals to play the winner of Penn State Beaver and Central Penn College.
